FAQ:

Does Bright Days offer Government Subsidy? Yes, as Bright Days is a licensed daycare centre, we will have access to the government affordability grant for full time (100+ hours per month), and part time (50–100 hours per month) registrations. Parents can also apply for the government Child Care Subsidy, which is based on household income.

How can I learn more about the services that Bright Days offers? You can contact us through the contact page of this website, and a Bright Days team member will get back to you within a couple business days to share more information about our program. Once construction of the centre is complete, we will be holding an Open House onsite so we can show parents the centre, and answer any questions you might have before your child begins care. Once the centre is open, a phone line will be dedicated to the centre and parents will be able to phone the daycare directly.

When will Bright Days be opening? Construction is currently underway, and we are hoping to have the daycare centre open by the end of Summer 2024.

What are the hours of operation? Our centre will be open Monday to Friday. The hours will be determined once we have staffing in place. We understand the need for extended hours in the community, and will do our best to accommodate this need for parents. We will be closed on statutory holidays.

What is Bright Days sick child/attendance policy? As a licensed daycare, we follow Alberta Health Services (AHS) Health and Safety Child Care Guidelines. A child is considered ill, and will not be accepted at the daycare centre when they exhibit any of the following signs or symptoms: vomiting, fever, diarrhea, a new unexplained rash, severe cough, head lice or nits, or excessive drainage from the eyes, nose, mouth, or ears. If these symptoms appear during the day while a child is in our care, a Bright Days staff member will contact the parents to promptly pick their child up. Only after the child has been free of these symptoms for a minimum of 24 hours will they be accepted back at the daycare centre. A child can also be considered ill if they require greater care and attention that cannot be provided without compromising the care of other children, or if the Early Childhood Educators believe the child poses a health risk to other children at the centre.

What is the cost? Tuition fees for our program vary depending on the age group. We are currently working with the Government of Alberta to set fair pricing for each age group that will allow parents to access the government subsidies, and also cover our overhead costs. Please contact us directly to discuss your specific needs.

Does Bright Days accommodate children with special needs? At Bright Days, we work hard to maintain an environment of inclusion for all children. We recognize that each child is unique and some require extra attention and care. The centre is wheelchair accessible. We accommodate children with special needs at our daycare centre, provided that their needs and care requirements do not compromise the care of the other children in the program. Our Early Childhood Educators work very closely with parents of children with special needs to ensure that their child will thrive alongside the other children in their classroom.

If we no longer require child care, how much notice do we need to provide to Bright Days? Bright Days requires a minimum of two calendar months written notice of any schedule changes or termination of care. For example, if your child will no longer require care as of September 1st, written notice must be given by June 30th. At this time, we do not accommodate partial months. As such, if your child will be removed from our care on the 15th of the month, you will be responsible for the full month’s tuition fees.

What is the cost? Tuition fees for our early learning child care programs vary depending on the program and age group. Please contact us directly to discuss your specific needs.

What type of security measures are in place to ensure that only authorized parents/guardians and staff members can access the daycare centre? There is a pin pad outside the entrance of the daycare centre. Each parent/guardian will receive their own 4‑digit PIN to access the centre. PIN's along with dates and times are recorded in case there are any investigations required. As well, the front office staff have a direct line of sight to the entrance.
